Kazakhstanis entered the top 10 at the European Triathlon Cup

Yesterday, in the center of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, in Alanya, a two-day competition ended - the 2019 Alanya ETU Triathlon European Cup. The race, held under the auspices of the ITU and ETU, was attended by 240 triathletes and paratriathletes from 32 countries. Among the participants were Kazakhstani athletes who competed in the Elite and Junior categories.

On the first race day, Kazakhstan was represented by members of the national team Arina Shulgina and Ashraf Kamalova. Arina performed in the Elite category at the “sprint” distance (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling, 5 km running) and managed to finish the 6th. Her time is 1 hour 02 minutes and 24 seconds. The first place in this category was taken by Ukrainian Yuliya Yelistratova with a result of 1 hour 01 minute and 14 seconds. The second was Lisa Tertsch with a time of 1 hour 01 minute 23 seconds. 16 seconds lost to her Alexandra Razarenova and became the owner of the "bronze".

And Ashraf, racing at juniors at the same distance as Elite, managed to finish 9th with a result of 1 hour 08 minutes and 43 seconds. “Gold” in this category was able to win the Dutch Barbara De Koning, who conquered the distance in 1 hour 05 minutes and 29 seconds. In 1 hour 06 minutes and 14 seconds, Swiss athlete Katia Schär finished and won the silver medal. 10 seconds behind her, Julia Sanecka from Poland became the third.

On the second day of competition in the Turkish Riviera, men's starts took place. Kazakhstan was represented by members of the main and junior national teams - Ayan Beisenbaev, Temirlan Temirov, Meirlan Iskakov, Daryn Konysbaev, Semen Pivovarov, Daniil Zubtsov, Alikhan Abuseit, Erassyl Amanzholov and Murat Zhaken.

As expected, the best result among “ours” was demonstrated by Ayan Beisenbaev, who race in the Elite category at the “sprint” distance. Ayan managed to finish in 9th position with a result of 55 minutes and 09 seconds. Daryn Konysbaev finished the race on the 14th line with a total time of 55 minutes and 25 seconds. Meirlan Iskakov crossed the finish line at 34th line (56 minutes 29 seconds), Semyon Pivovarov - at 41st position (57 minutes 06 seconds), and Temirlan Temirov - at 48th place (57 minutes 31 seconds). The leaders in this category were: 1st place - Janis Grau (54 minutes 38 seconds), 2nd place - Sylvain Fridelance (54 minutes 41 seconds), 3rd place James Teagle (54 minutes 42 seconds).

In the Junior category, the best among Kazakhstanis was Daniil Zubtsov with a result of 1 hour 00 minutes 38 seconds. Daniel placed on the 21st line of the finish protocol. Murat Jaken finished in 48th position (1 hour 06 minutes and 09 seconds), and Yerassyl Amanzholov in 51st place (1 hour 08 minutes 32 seconds). The first place among juniors was taken by Vitaliy Vorontsov (Ukraine) with a time of 57 minutes and 17 seconds. The representative of Taipei, Tzu I Pan, lost 31 seconds to him and became the second. The three was closed by the Russian Pavel Sorokin, who lost only 2 seconds to Pan.

This European stage in Alanya was remembered for the fact that in the category of paratriathletes, representatives of Russia won 12 medals, thereby winning valuable points in offset of the Paralympic qualification rating. The next start, in which we will have a chance to cheer for the members of the national team, will be the World Cup in Korea.
