Almaty Asian Cup 2018 - Age Group event in Almaty

Last Sunday timed to coincide with the Asian Asian Cup 2018 triathlon was held among Age Group athletes. The competition was attended by 159 athletes from Astana and Shymkent, Almaty and Almaty region, as well as Pavlodar, Aktobe, Akmola, Karagandy, Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions. At the same time, foreign fans of triathlon from the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, Urkaina and South Korea took part in the open competition. The competition was held on the picturesque lake Sairan.

Age group athletes tested their strength at the “standard”, or so-called “Olympic” distance, which consisted of a 1500 m race, a 40-km cycle stage and a 10 km race. Among the participants were both newcomers and experienced athletes, as well as well-known personalities like Valikhan Ten, Daulet Kurmanbayev, President of the Federation of Triathlon of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Alkanov.

The weather in the southern capital, as well as on the first day, when the start of the professional athletes took place, was hot. Thermometers showed + 34 ° С, which was an even bigger test for the participants. Of all the number of athletes declared for participation, not all were able to reach the finish line: some droped out the race, and some had failed the bicycles.

After two hours from the start of the event, all the fans in the stands were waiting for the winners to appear at the finish line. Thus, the absolute winner in the men's individual competition was an athlete from Almaty - Aslan Abdrakhmanov, who started at number 16, showing a time of 2 hours 11 minutes 54 seconds. And among women, the absolute winner was a guest from Bishkek - Julia Fernas with a result of 2 hours 28 minutes 49 seconds. Among the ten relay teams announced for participation, the best result of the competition day was shown by the ALMATYBROTEAM, which included Andrey Linnik, Gennady Krupyakov and Evgeny Alexandrov.

After the end of the competition day, according to the results, the athletes began to occupy their places in the final protocol. In the age category from 18 to 24 years, the first place among men was taken by Vladimir Tolikin from Almaty, who in the swimming stage first came out of the water, having conquered 1500 meters of swimming in 18 minutes, and the athlete subdued the entire distance in 2 hours 19 min. 51 sec. In this age category, after the end of V.Tolikin, was finished Mikhail Lim with the result of 02 hours 42 min. 46 sec. and Anton Egorov from Kyrgyzstan, losing 8 minutes to his opponent.

In the age group of 25-29 years, there was great competition among men, because 30 athletes claimed the top places at once. But all prizes were taken by athletes from the southern capital, the first place was taken by Aydar Malikov with a result of 2 hours 12 minutes 24 seconds, the second place was taken by Timur Iglikov, showing a time of 2 hours 23 minutes, the top three was closed by Roman Shablyanov, having lost to the owner of silver medal 3 minutes. And for women in this age group, everything turned out to be simple, because there were only three participants who shared deserved prizes among themselves. The winner was a participant from Moscow - Marina Eliseeva, who conquered the distance in 2 hours 55 hours and 19 seconds, the athlete from Almaty Anar Akhmetova took second place with a result of 03 hours 27 meters 13 seconds, with a difference of 1 minute Ainur finished Kumarova and became a bronze medalist.

The men in the age category M30-34 "golden" result showed the absolute winner in the individual competition - Aslan Abdrakhmanov, Arseny Yeliseyev from Almaty lost the silver medalist of this category for about four minutes, and the third place was taken by the head coach of the Astana Triathlon Federation - Murat Aubakirov. Like men, among women of this age category there is an absolute winner of the individual competition - Julia Fernas, followed by the second line athlete from Almaty - Ayia Mashtieva with a result of 03 hours 08 minutes 57 seconds, and third place was took by Aida Esterekova, who showed time 03 hour 22 minutes 56 seconds.

In the F35-39 age category, there were only 5 women starters, of which gold was taken by Dina Shaimerdenova from Almaty with a result of 02 hours 39 minutes 33 seconds. Silver was taken to our capital city, recently won the Championship of Kazakhstan in Kostanay at the sprint distance - Assel Sadvokasova, the winner of the bronze was Aida Koshabaeva, with a rating of 02 hours 54 minutes 40 seconds. In men of this age category, all prizes were taken again by athletes from the southern capital, the first of them was finished by Mikhail Kuvshinnikov with a result of 02 hours 13 minutes 06 seconds. The second was Duman Nurbayev, who lost 7 minutes to M. Kuvshinnikov. Two minutes to Duman Nurbayev lost to Arstan Smagulov and became the third.

In the age category M40-44, all prizes were also occupied by athletes from Almaty, gold was won by the “iron man” - Sergey Bodrov, showing time 02 hours 29 minutes 08 seconds, Vladislav Kopbossunov lost 2 minutes and became the silver medalist, well Andrey Khalyapin received a bronze medal with a time of 02 hours 32 minutes 10 seconds.

In the older age category M45-49, the first finish line was crossed by Vadim Shulinov from Astana, having conquered the distance in 02 hours 32 minutes 12 seconds, after 7 minutes an athlete from Akmola region - Marat Farrakhov finished, just one minute lost athlete from Almaty Oleg Nosov. In women, first place with a score of 02 hours 52 minutes 25 seconds. The only competitor in this age category was taken by the athlete from South Korea - Kyung Sook Kim, who a day earlier helped the main technical delegate of the competition on behalf of ASTC.

The first place in the age category from 50 to 54 years was won by an athlete from Almaty - Talgat Zhumagaliyev with a result of 02 hours 36 minutes and 14 seconds, only 10 seconds lost Vladimir Mikhailov, who represented the Aktobe region. And the third place was taken by another athlete from the southern capital - Daulet Zhumabekov, who showed the time 03:16:37.

Men in the last age category from 55 to 59 years distributed prizes as follows: gold was taken by Bakytzhan Bektenov from Karabulak, silver and bronze werw taken by from Almaty - Bairambay Nauryzbayev and Amir Gali.

Among the ten relay teams that participated in the competition, after the owners of gold - ALMATYBROTEAM, the Kaspi Team from the Almaty region won silver with a result of 02 hour 27 minutes 22 seconds. The “Bronze” third place was taken by the Sony Team, losing to the Kaspi Team in just over one minute.

This is how the prizes of the last Age Group start in Almaty were distributed - as you can see most of the prizes were crowned by athletes from the southern capital. After the official award ceremony, a common photo was traditionally taken - a moment was captured that will always unite people in love with sports and a triathlon from all regions of Kazakhstan and beyond.
