Sprint Championship in Kostanai

July 22 in Kostanay, in the framework of popularization of triathlon in the regions of the country, a start was held among athletes of the category Age Group – the Sprint Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in triathlon, included in the "TEMIRADAM" Cup. The race was attended by both more experienced athletes and beginners, who started at the start for the first time. It is especially joyful that there were a lot of athletes from the Kostanay region, where the triathlon is gaining popularity.

From the very beginning of the event, there was great competition among relay teams, which were claimed 6, and in the individual standings there were 32 participants. Athletes came from different cities of the country, such as Astana, Kostanay, Karaganda, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Stepnogorsk, Zhitikara and even from Satpayev of the Karaganda region.

All athletes after the finish noted that the "sprint" distance was given to many as "standard". And all because the Kostanay wind made its own adjustments to the athletes' competitive plans. Swim against the waves, ride a bike against the wind on the road, where there were heights, the most difficult for newcomers, and some could not stand and go the distance. So, at the beginning of the distance the swimming stage was not passed by the team from Kostanai, while the other participants successfully completed the race and received their well-deserved finisher medals.

According to the results of the day, Murat Aubakirov, an athlete from Astana, showed the best result in the men's individual standings, he conquered the distance in 1 hour and 11 minutes, athlete from Kostanai Vyacheslav Garnin lost to him for two minutes, Alexander Khitrov, an athlete from Pavlodar, lost three minutes. It is worth noting that each of these athletes took first place in their age categories. And the girls turned out to be much easier, slowly and without stress, the only woman announced at the start was Assel Sadvokassova from Astana who conquered the distance.

In the relay team classification all prizes were taken by teams from Astana. So, the first was the team “Barlau CSKA” and showed the time 1 hour 4 minutes, only 8 seconds the team “Aybyn” lost to her and became the second, the third finish line the team “Jauynger” lost, losing to the leading team 2 minutes.
