Triathlon Championship in Kostanai

23 July 2018

July 21 in Kostanai passed the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in triathlon. The championship was attended by 62 athletes from Akmola, Kostanay, Karaganda and South Kazakhstan regions, also from the cities of Almaty and Astana. Throughout the competition day, athletes competed at various distances depending on their category. So, the championship began with the start of Elite category athletes (men and women), who competed in the “standard” distance, then U19 athletes competed for the top places in the sprint distance. After that, individual starts were given to more young triathletes of categories U17 and U15, who competed in the super sprint distance.

From the first minutes of the championship, we could see favorites among elite men, such as Ayan Beysenbayev, Meirlan Iskakov, Semyon Pivovarov and Daryn Konysbayev, who only recently became winners of all Central Asian Triathlon Championship prizes in Cholpon-Ata. And for women in this category, the names of athletes such as Arina Shulgina, who became the first at the Asian Cup in Issyk-Kul, Anastassiya Avtushko - the champion of Central Asia and others, were highlighted in the start list.

Considering the fact that whatever the distance in a triathlon, each requires great effort and will power for the athletes, and the increased wind on the day of launch only doubled the requirements for the athletes and became a real test for both not experienced and more experienced athletes. Because to swim against the waves - not an easy task. Nevertheless, all triathletes reached the finish line and won their well-deserved places in the final protocols.

For example, in the Elite-M category, the Central Asian Champion Ayan Beisenbayev won the “standard” distance, our Central Asian Junior Champion finished second - Daryn Konysbayev, the third finish line was crossed by the athlete from Shymkent - Semen Pivovarov, who won bronze at the last Central Asian Championship. It is worth paying attention to what the athletes showed the time: Ayan Beisenbayev passed the distance in 2 hours 1 minute and 11 seconds, and Daryn Konysbayev finished with a difference of only 22 seconds, which shows a tense struggle and competition between athletes throughout the distance. And among women in this category, Nadezhda Bekmaganbetova from Akmola region was the first to finish, Gaziza Kumakbaeva from Almaty was second, Anastassiya Avtushko finished third.

In the U19 category, which competed in the men’s “sprint” distance, triathlets of the Akmola region — Nikita Kurgansky, Vladislav Sklyarov and Vladislav Ivanov — won all prizes. In women in this category, the first and second finish line crossed Akmola region’s athletes - the recent winner of the start in Kokshetau - Ashraf Kamalova and Yana Zimnitskaya, closed the top three - Yana Morozova from Kostanay region.

In the subsequent start, the men of the U17 category in the “super-sprint” race were once again won by Denis Tunitsky, with a difference of thirteen and sixteen seconds - Daniel Zubtsov and Alikhan Abuseyt finished. The girls of this category won prizes - Natalia Korotkova, Kaldykhanova Bibizhan and Artsybasova Daria.

At the end of the race day, the youngest participants of the championship in the U15 category started. In the “super-sprint” distance among young men, Vitaly Belov became the leader, Asatbek Narmetov was second, Ilya Shigapov closed the top three, and Anastasia Zakharova showed the best result, the second and third were steel Pihidko Arina and Amanzholova Aruzhan.
