Good news from Copenhagen

Last week was full of important events, one of the good news came to us from Copenhagen (Denmark), where the annual IRONMAN 140.6 was held. Vice-president of Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation - head of the Almaty Triathlon Federation - Galimzhan Yessenov and Honorary member of KTF - Olympic champion - Alexander Vinokurov successfully finished, overcoming the full “iron” distance: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km run.

Galimzhan Yessenov finished with a total time of 12 hours 45 minutes 21 seconds. Alexander Vinokurov showed the time 09 hours 04 minutes and 16 seconds, thereby taking the second place in his age group, setting an absolute Kazakhstan record at this distance and won a slot for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.

By the way, among the Kazakhstanis who received the title of “IRONMAN” in the capital of Denmark were: the Asian champion in cycling, the participant of two Olympiads, the sports director of the “Astana” cycling team - Sergey Yakovlev, the participant of last year’s IRONMAN World Championship in Kona Pavel Artyushenko, the former member of the Kazakhstan national swimming team Yevgeny Azaryev, regular participants of our republican starts among Age Group athletes Bakhytbek Duysenov, Serik Abdullin, Vitaly Blinov, Sergey Bodrov, Maxim Gaurov, Oraz Isin, Tursynbek Taszhanov. All our athletes successfully finished and were awarded the honorary title IRONMAN.
