Alexander Vinokurov won a license for the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona

The famous Olympic champion, honorary member of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation, Alexander Vinokurov, won the Ironman World Championship license.

Last week was full of important events, one of the good news came to us from Nice (France), where the annual Ironman 140.6 was held. Olympic champion, honorary member of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation Alexander Vinokurov successfully finished, having overcome the full “iron” distance - 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running.

Alexander Vinokurov showed the time 7 hours 55 minutes, thereby taking the first place in his age group, setting an absolute record for Kazakhstan at this distance and won a slot at the Kona World Championships. For Vinokurov, this will be the second Ironman triathlon world championship in life. Last year, Alexander took 7th place in his age category.

By the way, among the Kazakhstanis who received the IRONMAN title on the pebbled shores of the Gulf of Angels: the Asian cycling champion, the participant of two olympiads - Sergey Yakovlev, who showed the time 9 hours 8 minutes and 6 seconds, and the Kazakhstani professional cyclist Maxim Gurov, who finished over time 8 hours 59 minutes and 24 seconds.

Recall that this year the annual Ironman 140.6 World Championship will traditionally be held in Kailua-Kona on October 12.
