BI Group Ironman 70.3 Astana: results

On July 14, the most anticipated triathlon event of the year BI Group Ironman 70.3 Astana took place in Nur Sultan. 1400 triathletes from 50 countries of the world, including 20 PRO category athletes, took to the start. Among the famous participants in the "iron" competitions included the President of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation Karim Massimov, Olympic champion, general manager of Astana Pro Team Alexander Vinokurov, the organizer of the "Almaty Marathon" Saltanat Kazybaeva, as well as the Head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalovi and many others.

In addition to representatives of Kazakhstan and world sports, amateurs among men and women also decided to test their strengths, the youngest were 18-year-old Kazakhstani Sanjar Bazilzhanov and the oldest were 78-year-old Japanese Soda Shigao.

The first participant to cross the finish line among men in the PRO category was Nils Fromhold (3 hours 46 minutes 08 seconds) from Germany, among women - Radka Kahlefeldt (4 hours 07 minutes 43 seconds) from the Czech Republic.

Among the representatives of Kazakhstan, the first of the men to finish was the general manager of the Astana Pro team, the Olympic champion - Alexander Vinokurov (4 hours 09 minutes 08 seconds), among the women the participant of the Olympic Games in Athens, the winner of the Pan American Triathlon Cup in Colombia - Ekaterina Shatnaya ( 4 hours 59 minutes 41 seconds).

The best teams in the men's standings were the Running Pavlodar relay team, in the women's competition - Girl Up, in the team standings - the Kcell-1 team, in the family standings - the Kozhakhmet family, in the mixed standings - the Avantel Fire team.

Many are also excited and attracted by the draw of the slots for the IRONMAN 70.3 in New Zealand, the draw for which will be held this evening.
