Two Gold Medals on the First Day of the Asian Championships: Ramazan Ainegov and Yasmina Buzurtanova Become Continental Champions

The 2026 Asia Triathlon Super Sprint Elite, Youth & U15 Championship took place in Xuzhou, China, bringing together the strongest triathletes from across Asia in the Elite, Youth and U15 categories.

 

The opening day of competition delivered two gold medals for Team Kazakhstan.

 

Representing Astana, Ramazan Aynegov claimed the Asian title in the Youth (U17) category, winning the super sprint race in a time of 25:49. He edged Japan’s Kanta Ine by just one second (25:50), while China’s Dinghan Zhou secured the bronze medal with a time of 26:11.

 

Kazakhstan’s second gold medal came from Yasmina Buzurtanova of Akmola Region, who won the U15 girls’ race. She crossed the finish line in 30:56, finishing three seconds ahead of China’s Zihan Yang. Thailand’s Pitchanart Sripirom took bronze in 31:01.

 

On the second day of competition, June 14, Team Kazakhstan earned a silver medal in the Mixed Relay event. The team consisted of Alua Nurmukhamet (Astana), Gor Depershmidt (Akmola Region), Kaleriya Shneider (Shymkent), and Alkham Murat (Turkistan Region).

 

This result carries special significance as the relay team united athletes from different regions of Kazakhstan. Representatives of Astana, Akmola Region, Turkistan Region, and the city of Shymkent competed as one team, demonstrating unity, mutual support, and commitment to a common goal.

 

This achievement reflects the model of a truly national team that the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation has worked to build for many years. The relay silver medal was not only an important sporting success but also a powerful example of how athletes from across the country can come together and achieve outstanding results.

 

At the conclusion of the championship, Team Kazakhstan collected two gold medals and one silver medal, once again confirming the high level of its young athletes and strengthening its position on the continental stage.
