Ekaterina Shabalina and Temirlan Temirov crowned the pedestal of the National Triathlon Cup I stage

Today, on the coast of the Kapshagai reservoir, the National Triathlon Cup I stage among Elite athletes has ended. The competition was attended by 12 elite athletes from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Akmola and Kostanay regions.

Kapshagay greeted the participants with cloudy and rainy weather: in the morning the thermometers kept the level of +12 ° С, and the water temperature was 9.8 ° С. By the TO decision the swimming stage was canceled due to cold water. Participants competed at a duathlon distance - 2.5 km of run, bike for 20 km and again run for 5 km.

In the women's category, from the very beginning of the race, the leadership was taken by Yekaterina Shabalina, who was recently in the sixth position in the continental championship. She held the leading position until the very finish and rightfully took first place. Her total time is 1 hour 3 minutes and 50 seconds. The second and third places were shared by representatives of Almaty, Yulia Ozerova and Daria Bychkova, who lost about 3 minutes to the winner.

In the men's category, the leaders changed after each stage. The struggle for prizes broke out between representatives of the Akmola region. As a result, Temirlan Temirov finished first with a time of 53 minutes and 46 seconds. Meirlan Iskakov was placed on the second line (53 minutes 49 seconds) of the final protocol. Ayan Beisenbayev closed the top three (53 minutes and 53 seconds).

After the national cup, the course was tested by the participants of the Almaty region Open Championship in ITT triathlon among U17 and U19 athletes. The prizes of the championship were played by representatives of Almaty and Akmola region.

In the U19 category, Alexander Ten became the leader of the race with a time of 56 minutes and 1 second. Yegor Krupyakov (Almaty), who yielded to him a little over a minute, became the owner of the "silver". Bronze was awarded to Maxim Shmulich (Akmola region) for the result of 58 minutes 40 seconds.

In the category under 17 years old, Medhat Dairov (Akmola region) became the winner with a result of 1 hour 2 minutes and 50 seconds. The second place was taken by the capital's Ali Zhanat (1 hour 5 minutes 12 seconds), the third place was taken by the Almaty resident Alexander Molchanov (1 hour 7 minutes and 1 second).

Note that all sanitary requirements were fully met during the competition. Participants were allowed to start only with negative results of PCR testing. The next race, in which it will be possible to observe the performance of professional athletes, will be held in Oskemen. Here on May 30 the NationalTriathlon Championship among Elite, U23, U19, U17 and U15 athletes will take place.
