Kazakhstan’s Diana Yerzhanova wins gold at the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup

On July 18, the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Izvorani 2026 took place in Izvorani, Romania. The junior women’s race featured 30 athletes from 12 countries: Kazakhstan, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Türkiye, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Serbia.

Kazakhstan was represented by Diana Yerzhanova, Alua Nurmukhamet, Kaleriya Schneider, Aida Kim, Arseniy Shevchenko, and Alkham Murat.

The highlight of the competition was Diana Yerzhanova’s gold medal victory. The Kazakh athlete completed the sprint distance in 35:41, finishing seven seconds ahead of Romania’s Tunde Georgiana Crisan.

The silver medal was won by Tunde Georgiana Crisan (Romania) in 35:48, while Alice Ventre (Italy) claimed bronze with a time of 35:50. Only nine seconds separated the three medalists, reflecting the high level of competition.

Kazakhstan’s other athletes also delivered impressive performances. Alua Nurmukhamet finished 5th in 36:03, Kaleriya Schneider placed 6th in 36:07, and Aida Kim secured 9th place in 36:13.

As a result, four Kazakh athletes finished in the top 10 of this prestigious European event.

On the second day of competition, Kazakhstan continued its successful campaign. In the Mixed Relay, the team of Diana Yerzhanova, Arseniy Shevchenko, Alua Nurmukhamet, and Alkham Murat won the silver medal, finishing second overall.

Team Kazakhstan concluded the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Izvorani 2026 with two medals: Diana Yerzhanova’s individual gold medal in the junior women’s race and the silver medal in the Mixed Relay. These achievements once again highlighted the high level of Kazakhstan’s junior triathlon team on the international stage.
