Kazakh triathletes shine at the international competition in Burabay: three gold medals and a full junior podium

The picturesque resort village of Borovoe (Akmola Region) hosted an international triathlon competition, bringing together more than 120 participants from 13 countries: Kazakhstan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Estonia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Japan.
The tournament was held under the continental calendar of World Triathlon and served as an important preparation stage for the upcoming Asian and World Championships.
• Elite category: Standard Olympic distance — 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run.
• Junior men and women: Sprint distance — 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run.
The course ran through pine forests and along the shores of Lake Burabay, creating ideal conditions for fair and exciting racing.

Elite Men
The winner in the elite men’s category was Daryn Konysbayev (Kazakhstan) with an outstanding time of 1:46:28. He demonstrated consistency across all segments and delivered a strong finish, outperforming Roman Mineev (Russia) and Till Kramp (Germany), who placed second and third respectively.
Junior Women
In the junior women’s category, Diana Erzhanova (Kazakhstan) claimed gold with a time of 1:08:20.
Silver went to Diana Biktimirova (Uzbekistan), while Anel Isabayeva (Kazakhstan) secured bronze with 1:10:54, showing great determination on the final run.
Junior Men
Kazakh athletes swept the entire podium in the junior men’s event:
• Elmurat Kanay — 59:57
• Ilya Krupyakov — 1:00:05
• Ramazan Aynegov — 1:00:21
This team success highlights the strength of Kazakhstan’s junior development system and the consistent progress of young triathletes.

On June 15, a mass-start race was also held, featuring over 150 amateur athletes from across Kazakhstan. The results showcased the dedication of the participants and their motivation to continue competing in future events.
Vice President of the Federation, Kairgeldy Zhandos, noted:
“The competition in Burabay became an important stage of the World Triathlon continental calendar, and the scenic routes, framed by lakes and pine forests, created unique conditions for the athletes. Despite changing weather conditions, the event turned into a true celebration of sport, uniting athletes of both professional and amateur levels.”
The Burabay competition became a true triumph for Kazakh triathlon. Victories across categories and distances demonstrate the country’s strong athletic development. The tournament was organized at a high level and symbolized sporting friendship and international cooperation.
