​2020 Age Group triathlon season will not take place due to pandemic

Due to the increase of the number of COVID-19 infected in Kazakhstan and due to the current situation on quarantine measures in certain regions, the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation has decided to cancel all competitions for Age Group athletes for 2020. Taking into account the extreme importance of competitive activity for Age Groupers the federation tried to the last to organize the races. Nevertheless, the situation made its own adjustments both to the plans of KTF and athletes. This decision was made primarily in order to ensure the safety of life and health of athletes, organizers, officials and fans.

All registration fees previously paid by the participants to the KTF account will be refunded. For a refund of the registration fee, all athletes are advised to check their mail, where on June 22 the federation will send a mailing list with a detailed algorithm for making a refund.

Age Group triathletes license valid until December 31, 2020, will automatically renew until December 31, 2021. There is no need to update the license itself.

Note that the initial competition calendar, announced at the beginning of the year, promised triathlon fans wide geography of events and an interesting season. However, after the declaration of a state of emergency in the country, all competitions were postponed indefinitely. Further, it became known that the organization of the competition already according to the updated calendar is impossible due to the unstable situation associated with the number of people infected with coronavirus infection, of which there are more than 16,000 people. Now the amateur championships will be already in the new season and the release of the calendar is scheduled for early 2021. National championships for elite athletes are planned to be held as the situation stabilizes.

In turn, the federation team expects that Age Group athletes will continue to actively prepare for the next season and wish everyone more effective training.
