Grand-final in Gold Coast
Last weekend in Australia was the main start of the season - the Grand Final of the WTS. The strongest athletes of the world not only overcome the "standard" distance, but also fought for the title of world champion.
The winner of the grand final among the men was the French athlete Vincent Luis, who won the "standard" distance for 01 hour 44 minutes and 34 seconds. 14 seconds lost to the winner and became the second Mario Mola, who became the best in the overall standings of the WTS and for the third consecutive time he won the world title in triathlon. Three of the strongest was closed by South African athlete Richard Murray with the result of 01 hour 44 minutes and 56 seconds.
The best among women was Australian Ashley Gentle (Ashleigh Gentle) with the result of 01 hour and 52 minutes. With a difference of just 2 seconds, Vicky Holland from the UK finished. Despite the second place in the final, Vicky Holland was the best in the overall standings and became the winner of the world title. Bronze of the big final was awarded to American Katie Zaferes (Katie Zaferes) with the result of 01 hours of 52 minutes and 33 seconds.
