ASIA TRIATHLON CUP TURKESTAN 2025 26–28 SEPTEMBER
The spiritual capital of the Turkic world, Turkestan, hosted the Asia Triathlon Cup Turkestan 2025, bringing together elite triathletes not only from across Asia but from around the globe.
Athletes from 12 countries took part: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Korea, Germany, Japan, Estonia, Finland, Russia, and Belarus.
The event included starts in the following categories and distances:
• Elite – Standard distance: 1.5 km swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run
• Junior – Sprint: 750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run
• Age Group – Standard distance: 1.5 km swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run
Winners
In Elite Men, the champion and bronze medallist were Russian athletes — Denis Kolobrodov and Roman Mineev. The silver medal was claimed by Kazakhstan’s Daryn Konysbayev after a tough and competitive race.
In Elite Women, the champion was Tatiana Baskakova (Russia). Silver went to Minori Ikeno (Japan), and bronze to Alina Sinevich (Belarus).
In Junior Men, the entire podium was taken by Kazakh athletes:

In Junior Women, Kazakh athletes also showed strong results:

The athletes demonstrated their ability to compete at a high international level, proving their readiness to fight for positions in the Olympic rankings and strengthening Kazakhstan’s presence in world triathlon.
Age Group
The inclusion of the Age Group category plays a significant role in promoting and expanding triathlon in Kazakhstan. A total of 93 athletes and one team participated.
Participants represented cities across the country — Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, Aktobe, Turkestan, Shymkent, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Rudny, Ekibastuz, Oral, Atbasar — as well as athletes from Tashkent, Bishkek, and Minsk.
The youngest participant was born in 2007, and the most experienced athlete — in 1964.
Special Guest — Mark Allen
A special highlight for Kazakh triathletes was the participation of legendary Mark Allen, six-time Ironman World Champion. His presence and inspiring words became a powerful symbol of continuity and motivation for all athletes competing in Turkestan.
