The final of the Triathlon Cup in Aktau

Today, on the coast of the Caspian Sea in the beautiful Aktau city, the final of the Triathlon Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. In this competition, 20 athletes of the Elite and U19 categories from Astana, Almaty, Shymkent and Kostanay region took part.

Thermometers showed 23C heat in the morning, the water temperature was 19.7C, and the track was flat, there was almost no wind - everything favored an honest and interesting race in Aktau.

The first to start out were U19 category athletes. Juniors overcame the “sprint” distance, among which was one of the strongest juniors of Kazakhstan, who received the right to represent Kazakhstan at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (Argentina) - Daniil Zubtsov from Shymkent. With the result of 01 hours 02 minutes and 36 seconds, Daniil Zubtsov, who was in the lead throughout the race, became the winner of the final at the “sprint” distance. 2 minutes 21 seconds lost to the leader Yerassyl Amanzholov (Shymkent) and won the silver medal. Alikhan Abuseyt (Shymkent) closed the top three, showing a time of 01 hour 05 minutes and 06 seconds.

In the Elite-M category, throughout the “standard” distance, a struggle ensued for the title of the winner of the final. The first in this category was Sabyrzhan Kossak (Shymkent), who showed time 02 hour 02 minutes and 09 seconds. The athlete from the Almaty region, the champion of Central Asia among juniors - Daryn Konysbayev lost the leader to only 2 seconds and won the silver medal. Alexander Avtushko was awarded the bronze medal, having conquered the distance in 02 hours 06 minutes and 03 seconds.

Gaziza Kumakbayeva was awarded the title of winner of the final for the result of 02 hours 30 minutes and 42 seconds. The second went up on the pedestal of her teammate Daria Bychkova, who showed the result of 02 hours 31 minutes and 15 seconds. The Bronze among the girls was presented to Aigerim Nurgali, who arrived at the finish line of the third. It should be noted that all sportswomen who won prizes among women in the Elite category represent our southern capital.

Thus, the beautiful city of Aktau, which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, has become the next city to have passed the “baptism of fire”. The results of the competition can already available on www.triathlon.org.kz.
